A 135-Kilometer Horse Race to Be Held in Abay Region in Support of the World Nomad Games
Around one hundred horses from all over Kazakhstan will take part in the grand horse race, reports Altainews.kz.
The “ASSYL TULPAR” race will take place on July 21 in the Aksuat district of Abay Region.
— The aim of this race is to identify the most enduring Kazakh horses and the strongest, skillful riders. More than 100 horses from all regions and major cities of Kazakhstan are expected to participate. The winner of the 135-kilometer race will be awarded a foreign-made car. Participants who place in the top seven will also receive substantial cash prizes, — said the organizer of the competition, Ayan Sembaev.
On the same day, there will also be races covering 25 and 15 kilometers. The winners of these distances will also be awarded cars.
— The horse race (baiyge) is an ancient national tradition of the Kazakh people. It is not just a competition, but a symbol of national pride. A fast horse represents the honor of the nomadic people. In our culture, there have long been scientifically grounded methods for breeding and training horses. The main goal of the 135-kilometer race is to promote the Kazakh art of horsemanship, — added Ayan Sembaev.
The race will be held as part of the annual cultural and sports festival “Asyl Besik – Aksuat”.
